Meetings, Mugs, and Merlot

Friends Winery at Bull Run
There are so many meeting outing options in Fairfax County that it can be hard to make a choice. Do we hold a meeting at a unique venue like George Washington’s Mount Vernon? Do we dazzle our guests with a luxurious meeting hotel in Tysons Corner? Do we plan an excursion to the Air and Space Museum?

It’s enough to drive a meeting planner to seek out something to take the edge off. Which is well deserved. Many of the wineries and breweries in Fairfax County have space that can be rented for groups to rub elbows, share ideas and enjoy some local flavor in the beauty of the spring air. After the past couple of years navigating lockdowns and shutdowns, we could all use a drink. Make it something special and utterly unique in Fairfax County! Cheers!

Discover America’s Next Great City

Tysons, Virginia at night

Just 60 years ago, Tysons Corner was nothing more than a Fairfax County crossroads, tempting remote travelers with a gasoline stop and a Coke in between the area’s numerous peach groves. Over the next 30 years, it became a major mid-Atlantic shopping hub, attracting international visitors to Tysons Corner Center, Tysons Galleria and Fairfax Square. In the last 30 years, Tysons added “business kingpin” to the list, becoming the 12th largest business district in the US, a favorite of meeting and event planners, and home to Fortune 500 companies like IBM, Boeing, Hilton, Capital One and Freddie Mac.

Now, Tysons is poised for its next transition into “America’s Next Great City” with new hotels and cultural spaces to add to its already long list of hotels and restaurants, not to mention Metrorail access to a lot of the attractions of the Washington, DC region. Check out Tysons newest additions and make your group among the first to experience them firsthand!

Outside Is In

Meadowlark Botanical Gardens Atrium

Let’s get this out in the open. Many meeting planners are inserting a breath of fresh air into their events by weaving generous portions of outdoor time into their events. This may include a venue like River Farm, Great Falls Park, Green Spring Gardens or Huntley Meadows Park, all of which offer a memorable indoor/outdoor experience. Or, for those who like the convenience of staying where they meet, they supplement their meetings with an off-site excursion to our garden and nature centers or hiking trails.

With Fairfax County’s glorious spring in full bloom—the uber-popular summer touring season—the majestic colors of fall—and winter's gentle cold kisses—it’s time to think outside the room! Plan your next event today and see which of our unique meeting spaces suits your needs inside and out!
